- Erythrea's republic, country of the northeast of Africa, which constitutes, until the independence in 1993, the door of Ethiopia on the Red Sea. Its neighbours are Djibouti in the South, Ethiopia on the West, and Sudan in the North. Conquered by numerous times during XX-th century, at first by the Italians then by the Britishs and finally by the Ethiopian, Érythrée reached the independence in 1993, at the conclusion of a war of liberation which lasted thirty five years. The surface is of 120 000 km2. The capital and its most big city is Asmara.
