- Republic of Ghana, country of Africa of the West, situated on the bay of Guinea, limited on the West by Ivoir cost, to the North by Burkina Faso and in the East by Togo. Ghana covers a surface of 238 540 km2!; the capital is Accra. The ancient(former) British colony of Gold Coast, this country, which carries(wears) the name of the first African medieval empire, was the first of Black Africa to reach the independence in 1957, under the behaviour(canal) of the leader panafricaniste Kwame Nkrumah.
