- Officially republic of Guinea, country of Africa of the West, opened on the Atlantic Ocean, limited to the northwest by Guinea-Bissau, to the North by Senegal, in the East by Mali, to the southeast by Côte d'Ivoire and to the South, by Liberia and Sierra Leone. Small country of 245 857 km2, Guinea includes the islands of Los, in the wide of Conakry, the capital. First country of French-speaking Africa to have reached the independence, in 1958 , after its refusal to be a part of the French Community, Guinea, become then revolutionary People's republic, undergoes during more than twenty five years the dictatorship of Ahmed Sékou Touré.
