Le Ghana couvre une superficie de 238 540 km2!; sa capitale est Accra. Ancienne colonie britannique de la Gold Coast (Côte-de-l'Or), ce pays, qui porte le nom du premier empire médiéval africain, fut le premier de l'Afrique noire à accéder à l'indépendance en 1957, sous la conduite du dirigeant panafricaniste Kwame Nkrumah.
