- Malaysia, federal State of Southeast Asia, including Southern half of Malacca's peninsula (Occidental Malaysia or Malaysia) and northerly third of the island of Borneo ( oriental Malaysia). Oriental Malaysia, of a surface of 198 069 km2 (Sarawak, 124 449 km2!; Sabah, 73 620 km2), is lined in the North and on the West by South China Sea, in the East by the sea of Sulu and the sea of Celebes, and in the South by the Indonesian province of Kalimantan. The sultanate independent from Brunei forms a coastal enclave in the North of Sarawak.
