- Norway (in Norwegian, Norge, officially realm of Norway, country of the Northern Europe occupying the Occidental and northerly parts of the Scandinavian peninsula. Norway is limited to the North by the Barents Sea, the Icy ocean Arctic, Finland and Russia, in the East by Sweden, in the South by Skagerrak and the North Sea, on the West by the Atlantic Ocean and its sea bordière, the sea of Norway. The surface is of 323 879 km2. Oslo, the capital, is most big city of the country. The Norwegian territory also includes the archipelago of Svalbard (62 160 km2), and the island Jan Mayen in the Icy ocean Arctic, the archipelago of Lofoten-Vesterålen (4 044 km2) and the (uninhabited) island Bouvet in the Atlantic Ocean as well as the island Pierre-Ier, in the wide of Antarctica. The earth Reine-Maud, on Antarctica, is also connected in Norway.
