- Island country of the Pacific the South, the member of the Commonwealth, in about 1 600 km in the southeast of Australia. The country is formed by two big islands, the island of the North and the island of the South, separated by the strait of CoOK, and the numerous small islands: the island Stewart, Tokelau, or the islands CoOK, which benefit from the status of outside territory. The global surface of the country is of 270 534 km2. The capital is Wellington, situated in the island of the North.
